The managing editor of Cards Wire, Jess Root, answered three questions for Seahawks fans ahead of the Week 16 matchup between Seattle and Arizona.
The Cardinals logged an impressive win over the Browns despite having no hopes for a playoff spot this season. Do you see them playing the Seahawks just as hard on Sunday?
With one exception this season, effort has not been the problem for the Cardinals. They are trying to build some momentum for the future, and playing division games keeps the intensity up. This team has something to prove, even without hope for the playoffs.
Kyler Murray is ultracompetitive. Young players are trying to prove themselves, and the rest know they are auditioning for 2020.
Kenyan Drake has panned out to be a fantastic addition for the Cardinals so far. What can Seattle expect from the running back Week 16?
Well, so far, he has two great games and a handful of games that are nothing special. He seems to be a perfect fit. As for what type of game we can expect from him, that will depend on how the Seahawks defend him. His success can be attributed to scheme. He had 20 of 22 carries and 130 of 137 yards with six men in the box.
Kliff Kingsbury is versatile and malleable in his playcalling. The Cardinals have been best offensively with a balanced attack with the running game, but if Seattle stacks the box, they will find other ways.
Could this be wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald’s last game against the Seahawks? What are the chances the superstar actually retires after this year?
He is giving no clues. The general feel among teammates and Kingsbury is that he will be back. He is in good spirits, is healthy and still can perform at a high level. However, I can’t say it is any higher than 50-50 whether he returns or retires.
