Behind Her Eyes on Netflix: Bono's daughter Eve Hewson set to star in new psychological drama

Actress Eve Hewson is set to star in the new Netflix show Behind Her Eyes.

The 28-year-old, who is one of Bono’s four children, has been cast in the psychological thriller.

According to Netflix, Simona Brown plays Louise, a single mother who has an affair with her psychiatrist boss David, played by Tom Bateman.

The company adds: "Her life takes a strange turn when she later befriends his wife Adele (Hewson), and she finds herself caught in a web of secrets and lies where nothing is what it seems."

The show is being adapted from Sarah Pinborough’s best-selling novel of the same name and has been written by Steve Lightfoot.

It is being produced by Left Bank Pictures – who are the team behind The Crown.

Shooting has just begun on the six part series in Scotland and London and the drama is expected to air in 2020.

Hewson has previously starred in television series The Knick, 2015 thriller Bridge of Spies, starring Tom Hanks, and 2011 drama This Must Be the Place with Sean Penn.

She has previously spoken about how proud her father and her mother, Ali, are of her growing career.

"They’re so excited about it now, it’s so annoying. They don’t stop calling me," she told the Irish Daily Star. "And they’re like, ‘When’s that audition and how did you do? And what movie are you going to do next?’ And I’m like, ‘Oh my God, stop calling me, you’re obsessed with me.’”

However she said when she first discussed the idea of acting for her profession, they were concerned for her.

“It didn’t go over so well with my dad," she said. "I’ve been acting since I was 15 and my parents were just terrified. I think because they’ve been around and know what Hollywood is, especially for a woman.”

But the star did explain that her parents are the ones responsible for her strong work ethic. “My parents work really hard to make sure that we don’t feel entitled,” she said before adding: “They want us to work for things.”
