Begbies Traynor strengthens advisory team with director appointment

Experienced business and finance expert Mike Day has joined leading specialist professional services provider Begbies Traynor Group.

He has been appointed as a director in the company’s advisory division, where he will work alongside Karl Hodson.

Mike spent almost 25 years with Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance, latterly as senior client manager and area director. For the past seven years he has worked for Bibby Financial Services, most recently in the position of head of sales.

Bringing extensive asset-based lending knowledge to the fold, and will focus on the growing offices in the Humber region, including Hull, his home town of Grimsby and Scunthorpe, as well as working across the wider Yorkshire region.

The team provides a wide range of services including fund raising and acquisitions, disposals and sales ledger management, alongside debt restructuring and review, and also supports the group’s Eddisons property and Ernest Wilson business disposal and insolvency divisions.

More than 100 staff are now employed by Begbies Traynor across Yorkshire, the Humber and the North East.

Mike said: “Having worked in financial services for over 30 years, I am well aware of Begbies Traynor Group’s strong reputation and the growth of its business support services. 

“Having been born and bred in the Humber region and now living in Doncaster, I am passionate about supporting local businesses and look forward to working alongside Andrew and the advisory team to provide funding expertise.”
