The Bega Valley has recorded its first coronavirus cases, while numbers continue to surge in the Snowy Monaro.

The South East recorded 10 new COVID-19 cases to 8:00pm yesterday, while NSW recorded 623 new local infections.

Three of the cases were recorded in Beauty Point in the Bega Valley.

The Southern NSW Local Health District said the cases were linked to the Eurobodalla cluster.

The Bega Valley is currently out of lockdown after NSW Health identified two previously reported cases as false positives in mid-September.

The fresh cases in the Bega Valley are the first positive cases since the latest outbreak in NSW began.

It comes after fragments of the virus were detected in Bermagui from samples taken on September 29 and 30.

Meanwhile, the Snowy Monaro has seen a surge in COVID case numbers over the past three days.

The region was plunged into lockdown last week due to increasing cases. Lockdown is set to end on Thursday.

There were eight recorded on Saturday, 10 on Sunday and seven today.

It brings the region's total active case numbers to 32, while the Eurobodalla has 33 active cases.

A new case has been recorded in Bredbo, which is the first in the village since the start of the recent outbreak.

Exposure lists grow

The Snowy Monaro has seen more than 50 new exposure sites listed during the past three days, with most situated in Jindabyne.

The venues include supermarkets in Jindabyne, Cooma and Thredbo.

A range of hospitality venues, petrol stations and sport stores are also listed.

Anyone who attended the venues at the times listed on the NSW Health website are considered a casual contact.

They must get tested and isolate until a negative result is received.

Testing clinics are currently open in Cooma, Jindabyne, Bombala, Bega, Moruya, Batemans Bay and Pambula.
