Before you ask, no the Steelers aren’t going to pursue Odell Beckham Jr.

It sounds like the Cleveland Browns and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. are on the way to an ugly breakup. As Pittsburgh Steelers fans who lived through the Antonio Brown debacle, we can relate. It hasn’t happened yet but it feels like any day now Beckham Jr. will be on the market.

But before you say anything, no the Steelers are not and should not pursue Beckham should the Browns release him.

Yes, the Steelers could use a receiver to replace JuJu Smith-Schuster who went on the IR.  And also yes, when healthy, Beckham is a very talented wide receiver.

However, the team that eventually signs Beckham is just inviting drama and turmoil. This does not need to be the Steelers. Pittsburgh is trying to make the playoffs and do it by keeping turmoil in check. A perfect example was the decision to trade linebacker Melvin Ingram.
