Beetles aim to fly past Nakhon Ratchasima

Chiang Rai United players train.

Coach Emerson Pereira is looking forward to claim all three points as hosts Chiang Rai take on Nakhon Ratchasima in Thai League 1 on Friday.

The match kicks off at 7pm at Leo Stadium and will be shown live on AIS Play.

The Beetles are currently in sixth place in the standings with 15 points from nine games while the Swat Cats are eight with 12 points.

Chiang Rai got one point from a 1-1 draw with Ratchaburi on Saturday while Nakhon Ratchasima also drew 1-1 with Sukhothai last Friday.

"The match with Nakhon Ratchasima will not be easy," said Pereira. "Nakhon Ratchasima are a good and strong team and after Kewin Blackwell took over as coach, the team have improved a lot.

"However, we will play at our home ground and we are looking for three points from this game to stick to the top in the league standings," added the Chiang Rai coach.

Meanwhile, Blackwell said: "We have several things to make an adjustment. We know that Chiang Rai are a good team. They have a strong squad. So we are looking for at least a point from this game as we are playing away. We must be careful about their attack."

Leaders Buriram will visit 14th-placed Khon Kaen tomorrow. The Thunder Castle have 23 points from nine games, two ahead of Chonburi, who will travel to fourth-placed Ratchaburi on Sunday.
