Chiang Rai United will enter tonight's northern derby clash with Chiangmai with a modest hope of claiming one point from the encounter.
The match, which was originally scheduled for March 31 but was postponed due to haze in the northern region, will be played at Chiang Mai's 700th Anniversary Stadium, starting 7pm.
The Beetles' new coach Ailton dos Santos Silva is wary of another giant-killing effort from Chiangmai, who have already beaten the likes of Ratchaburi and Suphanburi.
"This will be another tough game for us. Chiangmai are a good team and cannot be taken for granted at all," said Ailton.
"Although they are new in the top Thai league, they have many good players. We must not make any mistakes if we do not want to leave the pitch empty-handed."
Chiangmai are still recovering from the resignation of their team president, Chuchai Lertpongadisorn, two days ago following differences with the executive board.
However, Chiangmai coach Carlos Eduardo Parreira made no reference to the development yesterday.
He said: "We have won our last two games and our players are now looking forward to the match with Chiang Rai United.
"We are aiming to claim three points from this game and we have the confidence to do that."
