Beeston restaurant L'Oliva named most authentic Italian eatery in the UK in prestigious worldwide awards

A cosy family-owned trattoria celebrating la dolce vita in Beeston has scooped a prize for the UK's most authentic Italian eatery.

LuxLife Magazine - an online luxury lifestyle magazine - has honoured L'Oliva, a tiny restaurant bringing top-class regional Italian cookery to High Road.

L'Oliva prides itself on its passion for authentic, freshly cooked food. Foodies have fallen in love with dishes such as pear and gorgonzola bruschetta, Saltimbocca alla Romana (veal escalope with Parma ham) and the mouth-watering homemade tiramisu.

The gluten-free pasta also makes it a hit with coeliac disease sufferers too.

LuxLife Magazine's Restaurant and Bar Awards celebrate sumptuous cuisine from across the globe, from innovative street food to gourmet restaurants serving "outstanding gastronomic delicacies."

The awards are based on votes and scrutiny from specialist researchers.

"To move successfully, from nominee to winner; there must be evidence of extensive expertise within a given field or discipline, dedication to customer service and client satisfaction with an ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation," said a spokesman for the magazine.

Food lovers can't get enough of the tiny restaurant.

One took to TripAdvisor singing its praises: "Had the pleasure of dining here last night. I visit Calabria 4 or 5 times a year, I love the real, unspoiled Italy and L’Oliva transported me right back! The food was delicious, and the quality ingredients spoke for themselves.

"The quirky, candlelit decor certainly added to the atmosphere and the staff were an absolute delight. Looking forward to returning again and again! Grazie mille!"
