Beer52: The world’s first virtual beer festival to launch in the UK

The first ever virtual beer festival is coming to the UK next month.

Beer52, the world’s largest beer subscription service, will run its own online extravaganza on April 17, inviting social-distancing beer fans to crack open a tinny and learn a little more about their favourite tipple.

To get involved in the Beer52 Cyber Fest, participants are invited to purchase a £29.99 ticket before April 12, and they’ll receive a case of 12 craft beers in advance of the festival.

They can then tune into a live-streamed beer festival from 6pm on the 17, during which Ferment magazine editor Richard Croasdale will take viewers through a virtual beer tasting, and host a Q&A with the brewers behind each beer.

“Whilst people are staying home, there is a great need right now for them to come together virtually and we want to help make that happen, over a lovely beer from some of the best breweries on the planet,” said Beer52 founder James Brown.

“In addition, I’m delighted that by launching Cyber Fest, Beer52 is able to help support these incredible independent breweries at such a challenging time.”

Brewers featuring in the festival include Northern Monk, Boundary, Salt, Gipsy Hill, Tiny Rebel, Buxton x Verdant, Dark Revolution and Wild Beer Co., as well as Danish brewery Mikkeller, which will be showcased by owner Mikkel Borg-Bjergsø.

Since the outbreak of coronavirus, a host of food and drink festivals across the country have been cancelled or postponed.

Beer52 Cyber Fest will run from 6pm on April 17. Tickets cost £29.99 and can be purchased at beer52.com
