Beer, street food and live music: Barney's Beer are having a birthday bash and you're invited

This weekend marks 7 years since microbrewery Barney's Beer started brewing in Edinburgh and they're having two days of fun to mark the occasion - and we're all invited.

Kicking it off in style, you can join the brewery at T he Pitt Market on Saturday 6 July - there'll be the usual delicious street food plus loads of special beers from the team including their limited edition Idaho 7 birthday pale ale.

Obviously no birthday is complete without some amazing music and Barney's have secured some of the best. Their old pal Simon Hodge will be guest DJing at the event - he's an Edinburgh legend of Big Beat and Four Corners fame and the producer of The Craig Charles funk & soul show on 6 Music. He'll be popping down and playing some funky tunes from 6pm onwards!

Once Saturday's proceedings have been slept off, it's time to keep the celebrations going at Barney's home in Summerhall .

Starting at midday on Sunday 7 July, they'll be having a shindig at the brewery, giving you the unique chance to see where all their brewing magic happens.

They'll have their trusty tuk-tuk outside pouring the super limited edition Birthday Beer, plus three other lines pouring new and limited release beers.

Food for all you hungry drinkers (and crucial stomach lining) will be available from The Royal Dick from their brand new takeaway menu, as well as special birthday cocktails made by the gin wizards at Pickering's Gin .

And just to top it all there's even more live music - Hailey Beavis will be playing an acoustic set in the brewery from 2-4pm.
