Beer festival planned for VE Day anniversary Bank Holiday weekend in Nottingham

South Notts Real Ale Festival is set to return for an eighth year- this time on the Bank Holiday weekend commemorating the 75th anniversary of VE Day.

The two-day event will be showcasing more than 50 ales, a mix of LocAles and beers from further afield, complemented by ciders and gins, at Nottingham Moderns Rugby Club, in Main Road, Wilford.

To mark the anniversary, the volunteer-led festival will raise money for Help for Heroes as well as youth rugby at the club.

Visitors can also look forward to musical entertainment and hearty food at the event on May 8 and 9.

Three sessions are taking place:

Enthusiasts session: May 8, noon to 5pm. Entry £3 including festival glass.

Friday night launch party: May 8, 6.30pm to 10.30pm. Ticket only from the littleboxoffice.com/southnottsrealale

Family day: May 9, noon to 10.30pm. Entry £3, including festival glass.

For the second year, the festival is being supported by headline sponsor, Nottingham law firm Sills and Betteridge Solicitors.
