Beer fans have six themed Cask Ale Trails around 41 Nottingham city centre pubs to look forward to

A series of Cask Ale Trails in Nottingham city centre have been developed for a month long campaign designed to highlight the great range of cask ales available at 41 pubs and bars.

There will be six themed trails for people to follow, starting on April 19. The trails will be mapped out on free cards that will be available at all the participating venues as well as Nottingham Tourism Centre.

The first of one is an Animals trail, inspired by pubs with animals in their names. The pubs taking part in this one are Cock and Hoop, Crafty Crow, The Dragon, The Hop Merchant, Old Dog and Partridge and The Roebuck Inn.

There is also a Caves trail featuring pubs with caves including The Angel  Microbrewery, Bell Inn, The Curious Tavern,  Malt Cross, Six  Barrel Drafthouse and Ye Olde Salutation Inn.

The Industry trail is for venues which have links with various types of commerce and industry: The Canalhouse, The Company Inn, Fellows Morton & Clayton; Lloyds No1 Bar; Oaks and The Waterfront.

The Legends trail features Albert’s, The Castle, Faradays, Fothergills, The Herbert Kilpin, The Joseph Else, The Loxley and The Ned Ludd.

The Music themed trail includes pubs that are synonymous with good music – The Bodega, Bunkers Hill, The Horn in Hand, Pitcher & Piano, Rose of England, Southbank City and Tap N Tumbler.

The final one is the Performers trail with all the venues featured in this one linked to stage or screen. These are Broadway, Kean’s Head, Lillie Langtry’s, Pit & Pendulum, Playhouse Bar and Kitchen, The Stage and Yarn.

"We have some great pubs and bars in Nottingham city centre who serve a great range of cask ales, some of which are sometimes overlooked," said Andy Crawford, a director of Nottingham BID, which has organised the Cask Ale Trails.

"This is why we have developed the Cask Ale Trails.  We hope to encourage people to go on journeys of discovery, sample some great cask ales and in the process, collect limited edited enamel pin badges and a T-shirt for those completing all six.”
