From the sweeping - and often remote - horizons of July's theme, to the bustling, heaving streets of the world's cities. August's theme is 'street life' tasking you with capturing existence, everything from community spirit to cultural comment, within the concrete confines of our globe.

The winning image could win an amazing trip to Manitoba, Canada to photograph the wildlife and document the experience for the Guardian, courtesy of the Canadian Tourism Commission.

Just a heads up: your photo should be at least 72DPI and be accompanied by a detailed caption off at least 80 words - where it was taken, any technical details, what inspired you to take it etc.

As you've noticed, we're changing things a little while the Been there website has a bit of a revamp and we'd like you to enter your photos via GuardianWitness. All you have to do is click on the blue contribute button.

  • GuardianWitness is the home of user-generated content on the Guardian. Contribute your video, pictures and stories, and browse news, reviews and creations submitted by others. Posts will be reviewed prior to publication on GuardianWitness, and the best pieces will feature on the Guardian site.

Don't forget to read the terms and conditions before you enter.

The competition ends on 24 August 2013 at 11.59pm BST.
