Bee + Kin handbags: These smart tech bags let you call an Uber with the push of a button

If you ever find yourself on a bad date and want to make a swift (and stylish) exit, there’s now a futuristic handbag that will help you do just that.

Accessories brand Bee + Kin has launched a series of handbags with built-in smart tech, which will allow you to order an Uber by pressing a button - ideal for when you’re on a Tinder date and need a getaway car stat.

The vibrant bags, which mostly stick to a bee theme with hexagonal shapes, are all equipped with a discreet spandex-covered button.

Designed by a company called Flic, the button syncs via Bluetooth to an app on your phone which allows you to programme some nifty commands.

These include ordering an Uber to your location, finding your phone and even turning on your house lights (if you have smart bulbs). You can set different commands for the button’s three different actions: a single click, double click and holding down for an extended period of time.

Bee + Kin’s handbags retail for between $500-725 and have another useful feature: interior LED lights, meaning you don't need to use your phone's flashlight to find your keys.

Bee + Kin’s bags also feature a light panel “layered under luxe spandex” - operated by another tiny button inside.

Even their smallest bag, The Sidekick, features all Bee + Kin’s futuristic bells and whistles and it comes with a chain strap for an extra dash of glam.
