Bedminster Fire Station release video footage of crews extinguishing oven fire in Whitchurch

Firefighters were called to Whitchurch earlier today (Sunday, April 28) after an oven sparked a house fire.

A crew from Bedminster Fire Station attended the incident at around lunchtime and quickly extinguished the flames in the kitchen of the smoke-filled property.

Footage released by the crew themselves shows firefighters extinguishing the blaze through a haze of smoke, using a CO2 extinguisher.

Those sent in to tackle the flames also wore breathing apparatus in order to protect themselves against the thick fumes.

In a tweet, a spokesperson from Bedminster Fire Station said: "Green Watch just responded to a house fire in Whitchurch involving a cooking oven, Following advice from @AFRSControl, occupiers were waiting for us outside.

"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a CO2 extinguisher to deal with the fire. #fire #spoiltmeal."
