Bedlington Terrier called Prudence was real star of Great British Bakeoff

A Bedlington Terrier has stolen the GBBO fans’ hearts after appearing on the launch episode of the Channel 4 show.

The beddie, owned by contestant Lizzie Acker, was seen lounging about at home while her owner was hard at work trying to impress judge Paul Hollywood.

Lizzie, who works at the Paint Shop at Jaguar Land Rover, Halewood, showed off her dog Prudence before baking her Nana’s Peaches and Cream Anti-Gravity Showstopper.

Little Pru has been described as a 50 per cent “lamb impersonator”, 35 per cent “attention seeker”, 10 per cent “mayhem causer” and five per cent “ball thief” by her loving owners.

The grey, curly-haired dog has her own Instagram account, @prudencethebeddie , where she ‘comments’ on Lizzie’s bakes as well as her progress in the GBBO competition.

Bedlington Terriers are known to be a very intelligent breed and make great dogs for those with allergies as they not shed.

Along with Prue, the Bake Off's other star barker was a Japanese Spitz dog called Eli.

The fluff ball belongs to fellow contestant George Aristidou who lives in London and is married to his childhood sweetheart.
