Bed retailer Bensons back at St Andrews Quay after Harveys summer 2020 split

Bensons for Beds has moved into a new store in Hull as part of the nationwide retailer’s transformation following a £25 million investment a year ago.

The bed and mattress retailer has taken a lease at St Andrews Quay Retail Park, Clive Sullivan Way, Hull, where neighbours include B&Q, Wren Kitchens and DFS.

The store opened on Saturday, with introductory offers to mark the opening.

It has moved a few yards from its previous location in a unit shared with Harveys.

Last June saw it become a standalone company.

At 6,100 sq ft, the new store is described as better suited to showcasing the range of beds and mattresses on offer from top brands including Slumberland, iGel, Tempur and Sealy.

Bensons’ managing director for retail, Alan Williams, said: “Hull is a great location for us and we’re looking forward to being part of its exciting future.

“The new store will allow us to display our best ranges more effectively and make sure that customers make the right choice.”

The store will be run by manager Mike Downs, who has been with the business for eight years, working in the city and in Doncaster. He is joined by four colleagues.
