David and Victoria Beckham appear to be planning for all eventualities by applying for permission to build an escape tunnel from their Cotswolds home – as well as a large wine cellar.
The star couple are believed to be planning to create an underground link from their nine-bed country home to their luxury car garage, according to the Express.
The 45-year-old former footballer and his under-fire 46-year-old fashion designer wife also have plans to construct a large wine cellar, and to install a security hut.
The plans have emerged just weeks after footballer Dele Alli was robbed at knifepoint at his North London home – while fellow British millionaire Robbie Williams also recently opened up over his fears of being targeted by violent invaders at his own mansion in Los Angeles.

In planning documents obtained by the Express, the Beckham’s planning agent said of the plans: “The proposed development includes a new basement cellar constructed beneath the extension to the existing garage outbuilding with a linked walkway.
“The basement cellar beneath is for storage of wine and the proposed use of the outbuilding is solely in association with the main dwelling house.
“It will improve security for the occupants of the property.
“The proposed [garage] extension adds three new bays to the existing garage outbuilding, increasing the building from four bays to seven.”
Vicky and Dave are believed to be isolating at their Cotswolds mansion alongside children Romeo, 17, Cruz, 15 and Harper Seven, aged eight.

Meanwhile, eldest offspring, 21-year-old Brooklyn, is said to be isolating in New York City with his billionaire heiress girlfriend Nicola Peltz, 25.
The coronavirus lockdown season has been a difficult period for Brand Beckham, with many turning on the family after Victoria was exposed for planning to apply for tax payer money to furlough staff of her failing fashion empire.
The star was forced into a humiliating U-turn after public backlash reached near deafening levels.
