Coronavirus: Bebe Rexha heartbroken as friend dies from deadly bug aged just 45

Bebe Rexha has revealed her friend has died from coronavirus and she's begging her fans to stay inside.

The Meant to Be singer, 30, said her friend was just 45-years-old and she's even offered to send her fans money so they don't have to work.

In the US where Bebe is based there have been 4,708 cases of coronavirus as of Monday.

She tweeted: "This is NOT A JOKE. A friend of a friend just died of corona at the age of 45. STAY INSIDE YOUR F**KIN HOUSE AND DO YOUR CIVIC DUTY. PLEASE."

Bebe, whose real name is Bleta Rexha, didn't reveal any more information about the friend.

Hundreds of fans sent her messages of support over the loss of her friend.

She then called on the US government to help its citizens financially during the global crisis.

Bebe continued: "The US government should put a stop to rent payments, mortgage payments and utility payments at least until the corona virus is under control.

"Millions of Americans are worried about keeping their jobs and their homes instead of staying safe."

Bebe then asked some of her fans to send her their bank details so she could send them money after some said they'd lost their job and others said they couldn't afford to miss work.

She added: "Please stay safe you guys! Love You! God bless you."

The coronavirus death toll is now 55 in the UK (PA)

In the UK the coronavirus death toll rose to 55 yesterday, while there have now been 1,543 cases, with more than 7,000 now dead globally.

Boris Johnson has warned people to avoid pubs, clubs and restaurants and work from home wherever possible to slow the spread of the condition.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock has said that over-70s face self-isolating for four months.
