Beauty spot hit by illegal rave as lockdown breakers descend on area just outside Bolton

Thousands of pounds in Covid fines have been dished out after police broke up another illegal rave.

Officers from Lancashire Police descended upon the Healey Nab quarry, just to the north of Horwich in Bolton, at the north end of Anglezarke Reservoir, in the early hours of this morning (March 7).

Upon arrival, officers from across the county issues 12 Covid fines, each £200, to those who attended the illegal gathering.

Two men were also 'dealt with' for being found to be in possession of cannabis.

Images showing the aftermath of the gathering revealed bottles, rubbish, and laughing gas - or nitrous oxide - capsules scattered across the beauty spot.

A spokesperson from Lancashire Police said: "Tactical Operations from around the county have supported local patrols in breaking up an illegal rave in Healey Nab Quarry.

"The area is littered with bottles, NO2 capsules and rubbish.

"Twelve Covid breach tickets issued and two males dealt with for possession of cannabis."
