Beauty entrepreneur Charlotte Tilbury becomes King’s Trust global ambassador

Beauty entrepreneur Charlotte Tilbury has been appointed a global ambassador for The King’s Trust, as the youth charity celebrates its 50th anniversary. The founder of her eponymous cosmetics brand will utilise her new role to champion talent and nurture entrepreneurship on a global scale, continuing her commitment.

Ms Tilbury, 53, established her successful beauty brand in 2013, following a career as a celebrity make-up artist for over 20 years. She has supported the King’s charity for years, previously serving as its ambassador for enterprise, and now steps into a broader international capacity.

Ms Tilbury’s new international role, the Trust stated, "reflects her enduring commitment to championing young people and entrepreneurship worldwide." She will help promote "greater access to the skills, confidence and opportunities young people need to thrive."

She will also co-chair The King’s Trust Global Gala fundraising event. The event will be held in New York on Wednesday to celebrate the charity’s 50th anniversary and raise crucial funds.

Founded by Charles in 1976, The King’s Trust is dedicated to assisting young individuals aged 11 to 30 from disadvantaged communities across 20 countries. Its mission is to provide access to educational, employment, and enterprise opportunities.

Reflecting on her involvement, Ms Tilbury said: "I have had the immense privilege of working with The King’s Trust for the past five years as ambassador for enterprise, supporting His Majesty the King’s mission to champion young people in the UK and give them the tools, belief and opportunity to transform their lives and their communities."

She added: "It’s an honour to build on my role by becoming a global ambassador and co-chair of the global gala at such a pivotal moment in the trust’s history. Through my new role, I will support the trust in championing talent and nurturing entrepreneurship on a global scale – promoting the invaluable work of The King’s Trust around the world. Together, we want to show young people that their futures are worth investing in!"

Alison Brittain, chairwoman of The King’s Trust Group, praised the appointment, saying: "Charlotte has been an inspirational supporter of The King’s Trust for many years, particularly through her role as ambassador for enterprise in the UK. Her entrepreneurial spirit, global influence and unwavering belief in young people make her a powerful advocate for our work. We are delighted to welcome her as a global ambassador and co-chair of our global gala as we continue to expand our impact worldwide."

Other notable King’s Trust ambassadors include actor Sir Idris Elba, television personality Fearne Cotton, and former England football manager Sir Gareth Southgate.
