A mum who died at the age of 28 thought she had IBS before being told she had just 18 months to live.
Delilah Kenny, from Skelmersdale, thought she was suffering from IBS when she started experiencing stomach pain and bloating that wouldn't go away. The pain began to get worse between March and July 2021 and then the mum-of-one started to get pain in her back.
In July 2021 Delilah's symptoms started to get worse, with her vomiting at least once a week and 12 months later the young mum was told she had 18 months to live after being diagnosed with bowel cancer. Delilah died on New Year's Eve, just over a month after her wedding to her husband Mark, with her family, friends and colleagues now raising money in her name.

People were quick to pay tribute to the mum who was described as a "free spirit" by her former boss Ged Barton, owner of the Ship Inn, Haskayne. Writing in the comments of the ECHO's previous story, Hayley Palmer said: "Heartbreaking.
"I looked after her just before she went to Woodlands [Hospice], such a beautiful young woman rest easy up there beautiful. Your legacy [will] live on in your beautiful son."
Karen Scott wrote: "As a bowel cancer fighter this is just heartbreaking to read, she was far too young to be taken so soon. May she rest in peace."
Linda Woolley said: "So sad so young. Heartbreaking. May you RIP beautiful lady. God bless you all."
Ged, along with his wife, Pamela, and a number of Delilah's former colleagues, are set to walk up Coniston in the Lake District on February 6 to raise money for Woodlands Hospice who helped care for her. To read more or donate, click here.
