Beautiful West Country beach with lovely pub is less than two hours away from Bristol

As summer continues lots of people will no doubt be itching to get to the coastline. While Cornwall may have bagged the top prize for the UK's best, the South West is spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful beaches.

Just a two-hour drive away, not far from Lyme Regis, is the beautiful village of Seatown, a coastal hamlet with a stunning beach and walks where you can drive your car right next to the shore. You can park up and either head straight for the beach or take one of the magnificent cliff walks with stunning views over Golden Cap - the highest point in the South West of England - and beyond, reports SomersetLive.

Seatown is a prized jewel in the British Isles' crown, not as busy as its neighbouring town Lyme Regis, and it is somewhere you can leave all your cares behind on a beach. And like its neighbour, it is part of the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site stretching for 96 miles.

The sea is lovely for swimming at Seatown and, if you are thinking of a day trip, your car will be just minutes away. It's clear why the area is a designated part of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

It is so easy to get to as you can park right near the strand and it is a real hub, the perfect place for a family day out on the coast. In high summer there is a pizza oven right on the beach and a cafe shack serving great coffee.

The Anchor Inn is a pub nestled right on the coastline and serves up delicious seafood on a menu that champions local produce. The pub is a great spot to kick your feet up and relax as you sip a glass of wine or local ale and eat fresh fish while enjoying the vista out at sea by day or night.

For those from Bristol wanting to make a holiday of the trip, visitors can either book a room at The Anchor Inn so you can enjoy a glass or two of Rose with your seafood, or camp nearby. There is a lovely campsite right on the beach called the Golden Cap which is well maintained with hot showers, regularly cleaned toilets, shops and picnic area.
