'Beautiful soul': Tributes flood in for Kilmarnock mum, 38, who passed away

Tributes have flooded in for a Kilmarnock mum who was found dead over the weekend.

Nicola McClay has been described as a "beautiful soul inside and out" after she passed away on Friday.

The 38-year-old hairdresser was incredibly popular in the town and was a loving mother to Skye, 15, and Enzo, six.

Close friend Debbie Livingston described Nicola as being more like a sister to her.

She told Ayrshire Live : "Nicola meant so much to everyone she came across, she was just the most beautiful soul inside and out.

"She would do anything for anyone. The definition of a true friend to anyone she loved.

"She was there for all her friends anytime we needed her. She had the most infectious personality and laugh, with a smile that could light up any room.

"Nicola was one of my best friends, more like a sister to me. We just clicked and always had the best laughs together. She meant the absolute world to me and more."

Nicola worked at The Barber Shop on Bank Street with clients left 'devastated' by the tragic news.

When not behind the barber's chair, Nicola spent all of her spare time with her kids and loved horse riding and walking her beloved dog, Bear — a black Shar Pei.

Tributes to Nicola have flooded in online over the weekend.

One friend wrote on Facebook: "I still can’t believe you’re gone Nicola, hearts are breaking for you all over this town.

"You were such a bubbly, caring person with the loudest most infectious laugh!

"Thinking of your gorgeous kids and heartbroken friends and family at this difficult time, you leave behind an incredible legacy that you should be very proud of."

Another said: "I'll hold our memories close to my heart Nicola, still can't believe what has happened.

"My heart aches for everyone who knew you, you were really a diamond... until we meet again beautiful girl."
