LightNight returned to Liverpool tonight for its tenth year with some stunning exhibitions and specially-curated commissions.
Venues across the city hosted incredible shows, with everything from art installations and theatre productions to parties and ritualistic burning ceremonies.
The theme, ‘Ritual’, explored personal and collective rituals to consider how they help us understand the world and define, or transcend, our place within it.
The self-led trail saw LightNight spectators wowed with incredible cultural offerings - and an extraordinary after-party at Kazimier Garden.
There were a range of ‘must see’ events, including Merseyrail’s audio-visual installation at Moorfields Station, a ‘death cafe’ at Liverpool Cathedral, and stunning light columns at Exchange Flags.
