'Beautiful' mum who was training to be a nurse laid to rest

A much-loved mum who was training to become a nurse was laid to rest today.

Ashleigh De-Andrade died on April 26 after being rushed to hospital, where she suffered several seizures and was put into an induced coma. Ashleigh had returned to her Southport home after a weekend at Haven Hafan y Môr Holiday Park in North Wales with fiancé Jordan Nimmo and three sons Jacob, 12, Noah, 10, and Lewi, three.

The mum-of-three died later that day. Friend Lauren Guest, 25, said it is believed Ashleigh suffered from a bleed on the brain and meningitis.

Lauren told the ECHO Ashleigh was "absolutely fine" in the weeks before her death. She said: "It was all really quick and sudden so it makes it even more devastating.

"They came back on Sunday (April 23) after being away with her three boys and partner. She didn't feel too good so she went up to bed for a little sleep.

"Her partner woke her up a few hours later. She was sweating. He took her to hospital to get checked and she had a couple of seizures in hospital."

Ashleigh was laid to rest at Southport Crematorium today (May 11). After the service, family and friends gathered at Fleetwood Hesketh Cricket Club to celebrate her life.

In a public Facebook post, Jordan said: "Hello everyone, once again I want to thank you all for your kind messages of condolences to me and the family.

"The Funeral will be taking place on the 11th May at Southport Crematorium @ 1pm. It starts at 1pm but please, due to many people wanting to say their goodbyes, please arrive early in order to get everyone sat down etc. (Around 12:30 would be ideal)

"We will then celebrate her life at the Fleetwood Hesketh Cricket Club on Fylde Road. I ask everyone to wear a splash of colour in what ever way you see fit."

Lauren and friends who met Ashleigh at Edge Hill University, where she was in her second year studying to become a mental health nurse, have set up a GoFundMe appeal to support partner Jordan and the children.

Lauren said: "I don't even think there's enough words to describe her. She was beautiful inside and out. She'd do absolutely anything for you. She was a happy little soul.

"She was so excited to be a nurse. She was always the one if some of us were struggling [with exam preparation] who said 'come on you can do it.' She was always so positive.

"Her and her partner were getting married in the near future. She had so many plans for when she qualified."
