The "devastated" family of a 12-year-old boy who died after being knocked off his bike have paid a touching tribute to their "beautiful" boy.

Zack Lang, who was remembered as a "live wire", was hit by a car on March 19.

Wiltshire Police said Zack Lang was riding his bike in Chippenham, Wiltshire, when the incident happened.

The popular youngster sustained serious injuries and sadly died in hospital on Thursday, March 21, reports Somerset Live.

The driver remained at the scene and co-operated with police.

Nobody has been arrested in connection with his death.

In a heartbreaking statement, his family said: "As a family, we are all absolutely devastated, just as much as our close friends are.

"It is difficult to describe how much we are going to miss our beautiful, live wire of a boy.

"Zack was full of mischief and brought so much happiness and laughter to our lives.

"We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has given us support; whether it was by messages, donations to the Justgiving page or flowers and kind words down by the tree.

"At this time, the family would still appreciate their privacy and the time together during this difficult time."

The tribute to Zack come as a five-year-old boy was crushed to death after he toppled off his bicycle and fell under the wheels of a passing van yesterday.

He was tragically pronounced dead a short time later.

The little boy had been riding on his bike on a pavement near his home in Knaphill, Surrey on Tuesday afternoon when the tragedy happened.

It was not clear how he came to fall off the bike.
