'Beautiful girl', 20, killed and mum seriously injured in horror car crash

A heartbroken family say they are "absolutely broken" after their daughter, 20, was killed in a car crash.

Darcy Bruce-Lawrence died when a black Vauxhall Meriva was involved in a collision with a black VW Touareg on the A226 just before midnight.

She was travelling as a passenger in the Meriva with her mum Donna Bruce at the time of the collision, Kent Live reported .

Emergency services, including police, paramedics and an air ambulance which landed at the nearby were called to the incident in Dartford, Kent.

Darcy could not be saved and she was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts by paramedics.

Her mum sustained serious injuries in the crash and is described as being in a stable condition at King's College Hospital in London.

Darcy's family has paid tribute following the crash.

A spokesman for the family said: "Darcy was the most beautiful girl you could ever wish to know.

"She was kind, thoughtful, funny and an amazing sister to baby Lula, and her brothers Ty, Albie and Billy.  

"She loved to travel - especially with her beloved Ben. We cannot even begin to come to terms with this loss. We are broken.

"Your prayers are welcome at this time, for all concerned, but we ask that you respect our privacy and that of her boyfriend and his family, to allow us to mourn."

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Serious Collision Investigation officers are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision in Dartford.

"The incident took place at 11.43pm on Friday, 28 June 2019 on East Hill, Dartford, near the junction with Sussex Road.

"A black Vauxhall Meriva was in a collision with a black VW Touareg. A passenger in the Meriva, a 20-year-old woman from the Dartford area, was declared dead at the scene.

"Her next of kin have been made aware.

"Officers are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision and have urged any witnesses who may have seen this collision or have dashcam footage of it to come forward."
