Mahouts led 11 white-painted elephants to parade and pay homage to His Majesty the King outside Temple of the Emerald Buddha on Tuesday morning.

About 500 elephant keepers from the Ayutthaya Elephant Palace in Ayutthaya province and elsewhere joined the activity of extending loyalty and best wishes to His Majesty the King.

They paraded with the beautifully dressed elephants on Sanam Chai Road from the Territorial Defence Command to the Sawasdisopa Gate of the Grand Palace close to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha.

There they prostrated for 19 seconds to pay homage to a portrait of His Majesty the King. The activity started at 9.09am and took about an hour to finish. It followed coronation ceremonies from Saturday to Monday.
