Families can enjoy a beautiful bluebell walk less than an hour's drive from Liverpool.
As the days (hopefully) start to get brighter and more family attractions to start to open up, you'll be looking for new places to discover or places you haven't visited in a really long time.
If you looking for a peaceful walk with a friend or a place where the kids can stretch their legs then we've got a place in mind.
Rufford Old Hall offers a sparkling sea of bluebells in springtime which are dotted all through the Hall's North Woods.
As you pass through the entrance of Rufford Old Hall, you'll notice a colourful array of springtime flowers coming into bloom. From daffodils and crocuses, you can see the signs of spring blooming all around you.
But the most magical sight is the carpet of bluebells which stretches across the woodland floor.
This idyllic spot is known for its displays of thousands of bluebells from mid-April and probably one of the best places to see bluebells in Lancashire.
While you're there you can also enjoy the gardens which surround the hall including a courtyard and walled garden.
As you enter the cobbled courtyard, be sure to look out for the Early Dutch honeysuckle, a climbing shrub that attracts many insects and birds and adds dashes of purple and yellow in May and June.
When you walk through the gardens you'll spot the Squirrel Border. Take a seat on one of the benches and treat yourself to a picnic, overlooked by a mischievous duo of giant squirrel-shaped topiary gleaming in green.

If you turn at the squirrels and follow the path towards the orchard, you will meet with a huge wall of colour courtesy of the white and pink rhododendrons.
Continue to the orchard to see varieties of apple and pear trees, including Keswick Codlin, Duke of Devenshire, Lemon Pippin and Bramleys Seedling to name a few. From April to May, the trees begin to show off their beautiful blossom too.
At the front of the house is the North Lawn, a lovely place to relax and take a stroll to the Beech Walk Paddock which is lined by a wall of towering beech trees on one side and the Leeds and Liverpool canal on the other.
