'Beautiful and talented' schoolgirl, 16, killed after being hit by train

Tributes have poured in for a "beautiful and talented" teenager who was hit and killed by a train.

Jasmine Morris, 16, died at Swanley railway station in Kent on July 22.

Donors have raised more than £10,000 for her heartbroken family to pay for her funeral.

An inquest opened into Jasmine's death today, and heard CCTV captured her tragic final moments.

Coroner Alan Blunsdon said cameras showed Jasmine "standing on the train platform" shortly before she was hit by a train.

Officers were called shortly after 6am to reports of a casualty on the tracks, while paramedics also attended but Jasmine was pronounced dead at the scene.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: "The incident is not being treated as suspicious."

An inquest into her death opened today and heard the school student died of multiple injuries.

The inquest was adjourned until December 3 at County Hall in Maidstone, Kent.

GoFundMe page creator Eleanor Wall wrote to the hundreds of donors who wished to help commemorate Jasmine: "Our family is heart broken beyond words. We have lost the most precious, beautiful talented, funny, most caring and kind hearted princess ever at just 16.

"We are setting up this page to raise money to help my sister and her family give our Beautiful Jasmine the best send off that she deserves. She was truly loved by all that knew her."

Ms Wall also thanked the dozens of people who lined the entrance to Swanley Railway station with flowers following the tragedy.

Former teacher Natasha Davison commented: "I taught Jasmine in Year 6 at St Mary's CE Primary school. She was such a beautiful, kind-hearted member of the class of 2014.

"I will remember all the special memories I had with Jasmine. She will be never be forgotten."

Friends earlier this week described Jasmine as an "amazing girl" with a "heart of gold" in touching tributes.

Kent Live reports Jasmine's friend Jessica Ellis wrote on Facebook : "Rest in peace Jasmine Morris. You was an amazing girl, inside and out.

"Always so kind throughout primary, and all of secondary. We all love you and miss you."

She later added in another post: "I wish we had more pictures together, especially ones that held the memories we had.

"All my love and prayers go out to her family and friends.

"Jas, you will never ever be forgotten.

"It pains me to even imagine what you was dealing with and it really shows that you never know what’s going on behind closed doors.

"I cherish the moments we had, and I was so blessed to have you as a part of my life.

"You was so so kind and caring, and I hope you rest easy... fly high angel 22/07/20."

Elle Day wrote: "Rest in peace to the most loveliest and most stunning girl I ever met.

"Jasmine you truly had a heart of gold and I can’t believe what’s happened.

"And in a world where you can be anything, everyone please be kind as you never know what’s going on behind closed doors.

"Rest in peace baby girl and see you on the other side. Fly high."
