Beauticians, nail bars and tanning salons delighted to welcome customers again

The wait was over last week for people desperate to be pampered after nearly four months in lockdown.

Beauticians, nail bars and tanning salons were allowed to open and, unlike in England, there are no restrictions on treatments that can be offered.

Tattoo shops and piercing studios also reopened last Wednesday.

Karen Begg, manager of Images Face and Body Studio in Bathgate, said her team are delighted to be back and have made sure everyone is safe.

She explained: “It’s wonderful to be back and wonderful to see our lovely team and our amazing customers, who have been so patient with us with all the changes that we have made.

“We’ve taken every precaution to make people feel safe and also welcome and relaxed when they come into the salon.”

One of the salon’s most loyal customers, Kim MacRae, has been having treatments there for 18 years.

She said she had missed coming in to see the team, adding: “It’s been a long time coming.

“It’s not the best having to wear the masks, but you have to do it and if things get back to normal quicker by wearing them, then absolutely.”
