Prince Andrew’s daughters pulled out of the British Museum’s inaugural “pink ball” after he surrendered his royal titles.
Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice were reportedly on the guest list for the high society event, which aims to rival New York's Met Gala, on Saturday.
Guests included supermodel Naomi Campbell, London mayor Sir Sadiq Khan and former prime minister Rishi Sunak.
Also in attendance were Lady Kitty, Lady Eliza and Lady Amelia Spencer, the nieces of the late Princess Diana.

But Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 35, failed to attend the India-inspired function in Bloomsbury despite both being invited, according to Hello! magazine.
It came 24 hours after their father Andrew, 65, announced he would relinquish his remaining royal honours, including his Duke of York title.
Meanwhile their mother and Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson will no longer be known as the Duchess of York.
However, Beatrice and Eugenie will remain princesses by birthright, and Andrew and Sarah will continue to live at Royal Lodge in Windsor, Berkshire.
Similarly, as son of the late Queen Elizabeth II Andrew will remain a prince, although there is increasing pressure for this to be revoked too.
Further attention has been brought on Andrew’s sexual assault allegations days before a posthumous book by his accuser Virginia Giuffre is published on Tuesday. He strenuously denies the allegations.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that the former Duke of York sent an email to Epstein on February 28, 2011, saying “we are in this together”.
And this weekend, The Mail on Sunday reported that Andrew allegedly sought information on Ms Giuffre by handing over her social security number and date of birth to his taxpayer-funded police protection officer.
King Charles, 76, is said to have reached a “tipping point” with his younger brother after it emerged he had lied about cutting ties with the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
His Majesty is understood to have consulted with his eldest son and future king Prince William, 43, as well as other members of the Royal Family, before handing Andrew his ultimatum.
Prince Andrew has strongly denied the allegations made against him by Ms Giuffre, even after reaching an undisclosed settlement in 2022.
