Beating a fellow titan

Four-time Olympic gold medalist Kaori Icho defeated fellow Rio Olympic champion Risako Kawai in the women's 57-kilogram final of the All-Japan wrestling championships on Sunday in Tokyo. The 34-year-old Icho scored a dramatic takedown within 10 seconds left to win 3-2, avenging a loss to Kawai from the previous day in a preliminary group match -- her first loss to a Japanese wrestler since 2001. "To be able to fight like that against Risako makes the [next] Olympics start to vaguely come into view," Icho said.
