Beat The Chasers viewers gutted as player is 'robbed' of £100k in just one second

Beat The Chasers returned to ITV last night and it's already annoyed viewers.

The spin-off of daytime quiz show The Chase sees a solo quizzer to take on two, three, four or all five Chasers - can you already feel the suspense?

Not only that, the more of them they go up against, the greater their cash prize could be.

Student Rahim was among the first to feature on the second series as it launched on Sunday night (January 3).

He instantly had viewers, and host Bradley Walsh, on side willing him to leave with as much cash as possible.

Rahim, who revealed he had 13 GCSE's, was decided to gamble for the £100k jackpot -  taking on Anne Hegerty, Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Paul Sinha and Jenny Ryan.

He added that he would use the money to visit the Seychelles, where he is originally from, and fans were keeping their fingers crossed.

But those watching at home couldn't believe it and vented their frustrations on social media when Rahim was caught by the chasers with just ONE second to go and went home with nothing.

It was super close (ITV)

"Watching Rahim lose £100k with one second left tells me 2021 ain't going to be any better... #BeatTheChasers," wrote one disappointed viewer.

Another cried: "Nooooo !! I am so gutted for Rahim."

A third asked: "Shall we start a JustGiving page for Rahim? #BeatTheChasers."

"Rahim, I stopped eating my crisps for you, that's how invested I was. Wow #BeatTheChasers," a fourth added.

Another praised: "Rahim defo deserved the 100K! I nearly cried for him. What a lad."

Even host Bradley was gutted (ITV)

Even Corrie star Sally Ann Matthews got in on the action, tweeting: "NOOOOO! We've never screamed so much. Gutted for Rahim x #BeatTheChasers."

Rahim had everyone's hearts when he told Bradley before gambling: "I'm not losing anything and I got to meet you."

To which Bradley replied: "More importantly, I got to meet you."

No wonder viewers were in bits.
