The Chase's Vixen has explained why co-star Paul Sinha wasn't on screen as Beat The Chasers returned for another series on Monday night.
The successful spin-off of the ITV teatime quiz institution sees hopefuls get the opportunity to take on all of the Chasers but, there was one missing as the new series kicked off as Paul, better known to millions of viewers as The Sinnerman, wasn't there.
The Vixen, aka Jenny Ryan, joined host Bradley Walsh and fellow Chasers, The Beast, The Dark Destroyer, The Governess and The Menace for the first episode and then took to Twitter as fans took to social media concerned as to why Paul wasn't with them.
Jenny, who reached the final of X Factor: Celebrity in 2019, posted: "For those asking: Paul was unwell at the time we recorded this series, so was unable to join us in studio.
"If we get a fourth series, maybe you'll see the six of us quizzing together at last!"
One fan replied: "Get well soon Paul we missed you. Another fab episode I can’t wait for the rest of the week. This is definitely the best quiz show on tv," and another posted: "Hope Paul feels better soon doesn't seem the same without him in the line up."
As others said the new series lacked atmosphere due to the absence of a studio audience, a third tweeted: "I hope he's feeling better soon. He's a super star!!"
Paul, who revealed he'd been diagnosed with Parkinson's last year, took to Twitter a few weeks ago, after the new series of Beat The Chasers was confirmed by ITV, to reveal he wouldn't be on it.
He told his followers: "On the week of recording, I was unwell. Happens."
