Beat The Chasers stars astonished as player reveals she’s related to Danny Dyer

Beat The Chasers stars were left gobsmacked when one player revealed that she's related to EastEnders star Danny Dyer.

Host Bradley Walsh was among those surprised at the shock discovery, as company director Harriet Quirk explained the ins and outs of her family tree.

Harriet explained to Bradley that she's been very interested in discovering her family's roots and long-lost ancestors as a hobby for the past four years.

Opening up about the hobby, she said: "I've got all the way back to William the Conquerer, which makes me and Danny Dyer eighth cousins, 15 times removed."

Bradley replied: "You and Danny Dyer?"

Harrier excitedly responded: "Yes! The Danny Dyer Bradley!"

"Wow. How sensational", added Bradley.

"Look, I bet the Chasers are impressed," Harriet added.

Chaser Jenny then added: "I like that you're more impressed you're related to Danny Dyer than you are related to the Royal Family."

The hit show sees contestants answer questions in order to take on five chasers at the exact same time.

Bradley hosts the hit show, which features five of the nation's favourite quiz masters Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett, Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty, Paul ‘The Sinnerman’ Sinha, Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan and Shaun ‘The Dark Destroyer’ Wallace.

During the Cash Builder run, contestants need to answer five multiple choice questions, which gives them a chance to bag a comfortable £5,000.

However if they're stumped on the first question and answer it incorrectly, they are instantly out of the game.

After that round, players are given the option of competing between two and five Chasers for increasing amounts of money.

These rounds are timed, so contestants are ultimately going up against the clock.

With their increasing amount of money, the numbers of Chasers they face increases, too.

If they successfully take on a total of five Chasers, they go home with pockets full of cash.
