Beat The Chasers sees Chasers 'turn on each other' over wrong answers

Stars of The Chase have admitted to having a few disagreements for the show's new spin-off series.

After much speculation, it was confirmed earlier this week that Beat The Chasers will launch on ITV next week, with Bradley Walsh once again at the helm.

Big cash prizes are up for grabs if hopefuls can outsmart the quiz veterans who have united to be what they say is 'the greatest quiz team on the planet.'

All five current Chasers will take part in The Chase 's spin-off show, meaning Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan, Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty, Shaun ‘The Dark Destroyer’ Wallace, Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett and Paul ‘The Sinnerman’ Sinha join forces in the hope of outsmarting teams of contestants

But, as well as going head=to-head with contestants, The Chasers have revealed there were a few squabbles over incorrect answers.

The Vixen said: "“It’s very fleeting. I don’t have a good pokerface when I’m in the zone. You will get the glaring or rolling my eyes when someone gives an incorrect answer – especially if I was buzzing in!"

She added: "We were having to remind ourselves we’replaying as team. We wanted to avoid someone hogging the buzzer or crashing in with wrong answers."

Being slightly more diplomatic, The Sinnerman revealed: "Occasionally some crabbiness does turn up. But the golden rule is that the first to get annoyed will be the next to blunder," and The Beast commented: “Paul and I would both admit there were times we started to play against each other and were trying to be the first one on the buzzer."

Giving his take on it, Beat The Chasers presenter Bradley said: "They’ve got to be quick on the buzzer to not let the time go by.T hey are jumping in and then as soon as they realise they’ve given a wrong answer it’s, ‘Agh!’.

"You could see it in their faces and you could see it in the other Chasers’ faces as well where they’re thinking, ‘Oh crikey, fancy saying that!’

"At the end of it, the Chasers that had made the mistakes were so apologetic saying, ‘I’m so sorry I made a mistake’. And I loved that because they’re normally not that humble.”
