Beat the Chasers fans left gutted for Huyton player Jay

Beat the Chasers fans were left "gutted" tonight for contestant Jay from Huyton.

Before Jay took on the Chasers he spoke about and joked with host Bradley Walsh about Huyton.

Bradley mentioned some playing fields right by Jay's house and said he'd been in The Bluebell pub before, which just happened to be the pub that Jay's nan was the landlady of.

Jay said he loved his music and wanted to buy a saxophone with any cash he won as he joked it'd sit in his room "gathering dust" before he got some lessons.

Jay decided to play against three Chasers for £10,000, deciding to play it safer after seeing people go out with only a second to go.

But despite a valiant effort Jay went home with nothing.

However Jenny Ryan assured him he'd still done well and predicted that he'd be the "toast of Huyton" when he returned home.

And lots of viewers at home said how disappointed they were for the Huyton native.

Kathryn Rose said: "Did us proud there did our Jay regardless, What a lovely lad!"

Corey Rawlinson said: "Gutted for Jay."

Caroline said: "I feel so bad for Jay."

Gillian Hudson said: "Awwwww....Shame. Gutted for him."

*Beat The Chasers continues at 9pm on ITV tomorrow
