Beat The Chasers fans fume as player ‘Lucky Luigi’ loses out on £100k by one second

Beat The Chasers viewers were left ‘pulling out their hair’ after Tuesday night’s instalment of the ITV game show.

Commotion kicked off on social media when Lucky Luigi from Ormskirk lost out on a life-changing £100,000 by just one mere second.

The likable contestant wowed viewers when he scored £2,000 in the opening round.

Luigi admitted that he "didn’t have a clue" what the right answers were, and instead chanced his arm at guessing – which worked out extremely well for him.

When it came to the next round, was offered £2,000 to play against two players, £20,000 for three, £50,000 for four, and £100k to play against all five.

After telling host Bradley Walsh that “he’ll only be here once”, Luigi took a chance and decided to face all five Chasers for £100k.

Proving that he was in fact incredibly knowledgeable, Luigi silenced the audience as he continued to answer a series of questions correctly.

Luigi looked set to win as he was still ahead of Mark Labbett, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha, Jenny Ryan, and Shaun Wallace.

However, things took a turn for the worse when The Chasers began answering without hearing the full question in a bid to save time on the clock.

And after a rapid answer from Paul with just one second to go, time and luck ran out for Luigi.

Naturally, fans flocked to Twitter to argue that Luigi was “robbed of time”.

“That was so tense! Luigi should have won that £100,000! He was robbed!” raged one viewer.

“He was robbed of time!! Oh my god, that was incredible!” another echoed.

A third quipped: “For that effort, they should have just given him the 100k!”.

While a fourth shared: “Lucky Luigi was a star!! That was so bloody close”.
