Beat The Chasers contestant takes huge cash gamble leaving Bradley Walsh and Chasers in shock

Beat The Chasers got off to a gripping start on Monday night when one contestant took a huge cash gamble and took on ALL the Chasers.

For the first time ever, all of The Chasers have united to become one team and a formidable quiz force to reckoned with. for The Chase's highly anticipated spin-off show.

Contestants on the new ITV programme have the chance to play for big money but to walk away with the highest amounts of cash, they have to try and beat all of The Chasers.

And that's what one brave contestant, Bernie, tried to do on the first episode. Reacting to his decision, to take them all on to try and win £90,000, host Bradley Walsh stood opened mouthed, while The Governess, real name Anne Hegarty, remarked: "Well...he's toast!"

She proved to be spot on as Bernie crashed out after running out of time. "Valiant effort, I just think you should have tried to take three of us on," Paul Sinha exlaimed.

"Nonetheless, hope to see you again soon Bernie - you've been brilliant," Bradley Walsh praised.

Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan explained: "If they see those big figures, they're gonna go for it."

There was some success for Beat The Chasers' first contestants as one called Alex successfully took on three of The Chasers to win £25,000.
