'Beast!' - Chelsea supporters loved what Ruben Loftus-Cheek did against Everton U23's

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has taken another major step to making his Chelsea first-team return.

The midfielder has not made a senior appearance this season because of an Achilles problem which he sustained during a friendly towards the end of the 2018/2019 campaign which also cost him a place in the squad for the Europa League final against Arsenal.

In a boost to head coach Frank Lampard, the 24-year-old made his long awaited Chelsea comeback last month in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Brentford B last month.

Jurgen Klopp believes Chelsea could be favourites vs Liverpool

Loftus-Cheek got 60 minutes under his belt at Cobham and was named in a senior matchday squad for the first time this season for the 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

That came after the midfielder suffered a mini set-back which saw him miss an U23's fixture against Arsenal.

Despite being available to Lampard in recent weeks, Loftus-Cheek has been an unused substitute in two of the Blues' last three games across all competitions, but returned to action on Monday night.

The England international played the entire 90 minutes for the U23's as they overcame their Everton counterparts at the EEB Stadium in Aldershot.

And there was a moment which has prompted a massive reaction from Chelsea supporters on social media.

Thanks to @CFCPys on Twitter , a 14-second clip of Loftus-Cheek receiving a pass before shrugging off a challenge with ease to skip past another Everton player and slide in a teammate has got fans talking.

It turned out to be an eventful night for Loftus-Cheek against the Everton U23's.

As the game looked to be edging towards a goalless draw, he won the penalty from which Luke McCormick smashed home to break the deadlock.

Before the final whistle, Loftus-Cheek and was on the receiving end of a nasty tackle, but managed to get back up after treatment.
