Bearsden crash: Several pedestrians rushed to hospital after road crash

A number of pedestrians have been injured after a road crash in East Dunbartonshire, Scotland.

The incident happened shortly before 5pm on Boxing Day on Manse Road in Bearsden.

It is not yet known how many people or vehicles were involved but those injured were taken to hospital by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

Pictures from the scene show how the road was closed to traffic while a emergency services response remained in place.

A police spokesman said: "About 4.55pm on Thursday 26 December 2019 a report was received that a road traffic collision had taken place on Manse Road in Bearsden.

"Police and ambulance attended and it was established a number of pedestrians had been injured as a result of the incident.

The road was closed to traffic (@RadioClydeNews /Twitter)

"They are being taken to hospital in the greater Glasgow area and there is no update on their injuries meantime.

"Officers are at the scene and an investigation into the circumstances is under way."
