Bears WR Cordarrelle Patterson puts Super Bowl win in the past

Every football player dreams of winning a Super Bowl. Everything they’ve ever worked for. The ultimate token of being regarded as best team in the NFL.

New Bears receiver Cordarrelle Patterson won a Super Bowl with the New England Patriots last season. And while he certainly was living it up in the moment, he made it clear what it means going forward.

Patterson is focused on the present, which includes a new opportunity to add to his legacy, now with the Bears.

When Patterson was asked by a Boston reporter what it’s like to be a Super Bowl champion, he had some interesting words.

“What’s it like to be a Super Bowl champ? Honestly, that Super Bowl don’t mean s— to me,” Patterson told Justin Turpin of Redline Media. “I’m in a new role right now. I’m on a new team, so it’s a new opportunity for me to bring my legacy and live on to another team. So, whatever happened last year in the past, that’s in the past. I’m trying to just move forward.”

Patterson, who signed a two-year deal with the Bears in March, comes to Chicago as a versatile weapon all around. A speedster on offense and special teams, expectations are high for what Patterson can accomplish in Matt Nagy’s offense and as the NFL’s most electric return man.

With Patterson focused on the future, hopefully moving forward this Bears team can win a Super Bowl of its own. And that would certainly mean everything to this team and the city of Chicago.
