Bears WR Anthony Miller, OLB Aaron Lynch return to practice

Wide receiver Anthony Miller and outside linebacker Aaron Lynch returned to practice Monday in a limited role, Bears coach Matt Nagy said.

Miller sprained his ankle in training camp, and Lynch has been nursing an injured shoulder since the team was in Bourbonnais.

Both players are expected to be available for the Bears’ season opener Sept. 5 against the Packers. The Bears consider second-year player Miller a starter, while Lynch is the primary backup behind Khalil Mack and Leonard Floyd.

Nagy called Miller a “playmaker” when he’s on the field.

“He can make plays and he’s a weapon for us,” Nagy said. “We gotta make sure he stays inside that playbook and he understands the details of this offense.”

Nagy said, too, that swing tackle T.J. Clemmings would miss the rest of the season hurting his quad Saturday against the Colts. Notre Dame alum Alex Bars figures to play tackle in the preseason finale Thursday.
