Bears Week 7 Inactives: Mitch Trubisky, Bilal Nichols active vs. Saints

It’s officially official: Chicago Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky will be returning to game action against the New Orleans Saints.

The Bears released their Week 7 inactives, and Trubisky, along with defensive tackle Bilal Nichols and offensive lineman Ted Larsen, are active for a pivotal NFC showdown against the Saints.

Trubisky, who missed three weeks with a dislocated left shoulder injury, will wear a harness on his left shoulder. He returns to an offense that continues to search for its identity. There was a big emphasis on fixing the ailing run game, which would be a good way to protect Trubisky in his return.

The return of Nichols, who broke his hand against the Denver Broncos in Week 2, is a huge plus for a Bears defensive front that will face a Saints offense minus quarterback Drew Brees and running back Alvin Kamara. Nichols will be wearing a cast on his hand, as hinted at by Matt Nagy.

There will be a change on the offensive line for today’s game after right guard Kyle Long was placed on season-ending injured reserve Monday. Whether that’s Rashaad Coward or Larsen, who was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday, remains to be seen.
