Bears Week 1 Injury Report: Trey Burton will be ‘game-time decision’

With the season opener just a couple days away, the Chicago Bears still remain relatively healthy, as evidenced by the second injury report of the season.

Tight end Trey Burton and offensive lineman Rashaad Coward were both limited on Tuesday, but there was a new addition to the injury report in defensive tackle Bilal Nichols.

Nichols was listed as a limited participant in practice with a knee injury, but Bears coach Matt Nagy confirmed that it was part of a maintenance plan to protect him on the indoor turf field.

Burton suffered a mild groin strain last week, which held him out of Sunday’s practice. Burton was once again limited on Tuesday. Nagy said that Burton is “getting slightly better,” but he’s going to be a game-time decision.

Over on the Packers side, wide receiver Darrius Shepherd, linebacker Oren Burks and tight end Jace Sternberger did not practice. Sternberger was placed on Injured Reserve.

Cornerbacks Ka’dar Hollman, Kevin King and Tramon Williams were all limited.

The Bears and Packers will provide official injury statuses on Wednesday before Thursday night’s game.
