Bears Week 1 Injury Report: Burton, Nichols, Coward all questionable

The Bears released their official injury report for Thursday’s regular-season opener against the Packers with no big surprises.

Tight end Trey Burton (groin), offensive lineman Rashaad Coward (elbow) and defensive tackle (knee) are listed as questionable for the first game of the NFL season.

Burton continues to struggle with a mild groin strain suffered last week, and his limitations in practice throughout the week isn’t encouraging for his availability on Thursday.

Coward continues to nurse an elbow injury sustained during the Bears’ second preseason game. Meanwhile, Nichols was once again listed as limited due to practicing indoors as part of a maintenance plan on his knee, as per Matt Nagy.

Since Nichols was listed as limited, he’s officially “questionable” for Thursday.

For the Packers, cornerback Ka’dar Hollman is listed as questionable while linebacker Oren Burks and receiver Darrius Shepherd are both out. On Tuesday, rookie tight end Jace Sternberger was placed on injured reserve.
