Bears vs. Packers inactives: Trey Burton OUT for Week 1

It’s time for Adam Shaheen to step into the spotlight.

The Chicago Bears announced their inactives for Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers, and tight end Trey Burton is out because of his groin strain.

Burton was limited in practice this week recovering from the injury that was separate from his offseason sports hernia surgery.

He’s developing a reputation of struggling to stay healthy, despite playing all 16 regular season games last season.

The Bears are also holding out fourth-round pick Riley Ridley, who sits at the bottom of the wide receiver depth chart loaded with talent.

The only other injured player sitting out for Chicago is offensive lineman Rashaad Coward, who suffered his elbow injury in the second week of the preseason.

Meanwhile, the Packers will be without starting linebacker Oren Burks.
