Mitch Trubisky threw three touchdowns, Anthony Miller caught a career-high nine passes for 140 yards and the Bears rallied for a 24-20 win over the Lions on Thanksgiving Day.
David Montgomery scored the go-ahead TD with just over two minutes in regulation off a short pass from Trubisky to complete a nine-play, 90-yard drive. Eddie Jackson picked off a fourth-down pass inside the final minute to seal the win.
David Blough, the third-string QB making his NFL debut, came out firing for the Lions with a 75-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Golladay on his first-ever NFL completion. The Bears’ defense hardened up after allowing two touchdowns in the first quarter, however, holding Detroit to two field goals the remainder of the game.
The Bears are back to .500 with the victory.

Before the game
The Bears look to get back to .500 with a Thanksgiving Day matchup against the Lions at Ford Field. It’s the 18th time the two teams have met on the holiday, including last year when Chase Daniel led the Bears to a 23-16 victory to give the franchise a 9-8 advantage in the matchup.
Mitch Trubisky will be the one under center Thursday in his latest attempt to play a strong four quarters in a row. He’s been up and down throughout his third professional season, but there have been signs of progress in recent weeks when the team turns up the tempo with the clock running.
That’s still more than we’ve seen from Lions starting quarterback David Blough, who will make his NFL debut Thursday due to injuries to Matthew Stafford and Jeff Driskel. Blough, a rookie out of Purdue, has never thrown a pass in the NFL. He’s being backed up by a banged up Driskel, who’s dealing with a hamstring injury, and tight end Logan Thomas, a former college QB at Virginia Tech who has thrown 10 passes in the NFL.
The Bears’ defense, which ranks fourth in the NFL, has to be licking its chops at the chance for a big day against a third-string passer on national TV.
